Century Optics Bayonet vs Thread mount
FYI,
I sent the following inquiry to Century Optics: ========== From your webpages it appears that you offer several video camera adapters that are available with your "exclusive bayonet mount" for several different cameras including the VX2000. Since the VX2000 also has 58mm threads and the same products are available for a 58mm threaded mount, could you please explain the advantages of using the bayonet mount? Is it simply for ease of attachment and removal? Does it reduce vignetting? Is there some other reason? =========== They responded: =========== Thank you for your interest in Century products. The current 58mm Century attachment will not vignette when threaded directly onto the lens. However, the bayonet mount is easier on/off, much more secure then threading onto the plastic threads of the lens and has the least amount of wear and tear. ============ |
