Attaching filters

Hi,

I just got a new VX2000 that came with filters, telephoto lens and wide angle lens. All filters and lens are marked as 58mm.

I can't get any of them to fit (they'[re too big) except for the wide angle lens. It too, is marked 58mm but looks smaler than the rest. Am I missing something? I know they're supposed to fit. Maybe I'm not doing something I'm supposed too?

Thanks,

Lee

You match the thread sizes and then screw the filter in. Perhaps you're screwing the wrong way? Are they Leica filters? I discovered that Leica filters' threads only screw into Leica cameras.

Screwing filters into your adaptors? Make sure your adaptors have threads in the front, and match the sizes.

Frank, thanks for your reply.

I did figure out what was happening, and it turned out to be a stupid mistake on my part.

The first lens I screwed in was the wide angle. When I unscrewed it, I inadvertantly unscrewed only the top half of it out. The other half, which is lableled "macro", was left in.

That's why nothing would fit - the bottom half, or macro section, of the wide angle lens was occupying the 58mm thread!
The thread that was exposed (smaller than 58mm) was actually supposed to be the connection between the two halves of the wide angle lens.

Whew, now I'll be able to sleep toinght.

Thanks again!

Lee
