PD170 audio questions....

Just spending the first few hours tinkering with my new PD170...LOVE it so far! Anyway I first noticed sound was only coming out of the left channel so I changed it to Channel 1 & Channel 2 setting. I couldn't adjust the audio and found you have to turn off AGC (automatic gain control?). But then I could only raise the left channel. I then went and changed it to "locked" or whatever setting allows you to move channel 1 and 2 levels simultaneously.

-Are all of these things I did correct?

-Must you set the input for Ch1 & 2 for the stock mic to get sound out of both channels?

-How good is the AGC? Can I shoot something unscripted like a wedding and be ok? Also...if I DO set AGC...at what volume levels will it try to balance and keep the audio within?

-Lastly is there any way to keep the audio bars on the screen at all times without being in the "audio level" menu overlay?

When you have both channels set to manual, you push in on the level control to switch between channels.

Yes

Set once channel to AGC, the other to manual and set it at about 25%.

-Lastly is there any way to keep the audio bars on the screen at all times without being in the "audio level" menu overlay?

At least on the 150, the menu overlay, after you push the button, goes back to the standard display. If you want to see the data, push the menu button.
