vx2000 wiggly hot shoe mount

Hi,

I mount an external microphone on my VX2000. Even when I screw the mic min-stand as tight as possible, the hot shoe mount still wiggles. I've noticed some rumbling in my recordings and believe the wiggly hot shoe to be a culprit. Has anyone tried to service this ? Otherwise, is there a sturdier way to mount a microphone ? I still have a Mack warranty, but I think the problem has more to do with the construction of the original parts.

Thanks,

Gints
