Error 31:23
 

I have error code 31:23 on my VX2k. Somebody knows what it means? Thanks

You need to know the letter part of the error code. The "c" codes are errors you can service yourself. The "e" codes require a dealer. It says C:31:xx means "a malfunction other than the above". Then it suggests you remove the cassette and insert again. Disconnect the power cord, remove the battery, replace it and "operate your camcorder."

You could also try the reset button...

When you disconnect all power, let it sit for a few minutes to allow all the capacitors to discharge. 10 minutes is a good idea.

Then, if it doesn't cure the problem, Reset the camera. Don't forget to then reset all your changes to camera operation that you've made in the past.

Wouldn't it be nice if Sony would allow you to set, save and restore camera settings via the firewire or USB port as you can with some of the digital still cameras?
