I have one that doesn't work anymore sitting around my office (it's a nice paperweight). In it's day, it was an awesome camera! When I got my first PD about 12 years ago I used the 1000 as a 2nd camera and could never really get them to match perfectly and the image was nowhere as good as the PD BUT I used it for about 2 more years as a 2nd/3rd camera for lockdowns.

Don't think anyone is using this 15 year old camcorder anymore, especially because any low end small handicam today will outperform it. My father though has this one still in his collection, once used as bcam, now collecting dust but it still works.
