UHF wireless: single receiver - multiple transmitters. Does it exist!
 

Hello All,

Is there a UHF wireless mic system where
you can have a single receiver receiving
signals from multiple (say 4) transmitters
under $1000 ?

Does it exist? Probably. Under $1000. Maybe, but you would probably not like it.

First off, getting two transmitters on 'exactly' the same frequency is very hard to do. If they are not on exactly the same frequency, you get what is called intermod or intermodual distortion.

Also getting the levels correct would be impossible.

What you really need is multi xmitters on differnt freqs being recv'd by multi receivers... then mixed with a mixing board...

The common type of wireless mike is FM because of its quietness over an AM system. FM receivers capture the strongest signal and completely disregard the weaker one.... so now you would have to make sure the received signals were exactly at the same RF level, which varies at an inverse square rate of the distance of the transmitter from the receiver.

Getting the picture here? Maybe it could be done but you would be able to get a patent on it when you were finished! It would be a system of so many variables that it would take ten people to operate.
