PD150 Progressive Scan?

Is this a true non-interlaced frame? Like 24p?

Or is it some foe thing?

Tom Hardwick March 19th, 2006 02:31 AM

It's a true non-interlaced progressive scan all right, but the frame rate is 15 fps for NTSC and 12.5 fps for PAL cameras. This makes the camera a great motor-drive still camera in this mode, but the movies it produces are useless.

tom.

Looks pretty good if nothing moves.... :)

Even the Egyptian pyramids move. If you think they don't you've simply not been watching them long enough. Said by time-lapse freak, tom.

I don't think that's so. The shutter can still be set. Are you sure?

I'll do a test later to see.

Hi Michael, and welcome to DVinfo. Please don't cross post the same question to different forums; it's against our policy. Yes, Tom is correct (after you've been around here awhile you'll know better than to argue with him ;-)

You're confusing shutter speed with frames per second, and they're totally different things. Frames per second indicates the number of distinct images captured in one second. Shutter speed refers to how long the shutter stays open while capturing each of those images.

See the following since this has been discussed before:
