Rob,
You should check the mics independently of the camera to make sure the hiss is not in the radio mic system. Once you are satisfied you have good sound out of the mics you should play with the trim menu for the camera to see if you can get good levels with the mics running the input pots somewhere near the middle. -47db is a low setting for a radio mic receiver and -20 on peaks is also low for actual recording so you probably have some room to bring up the trims and the recording level. Average recording levels should be around -20 but peaks can go up to around -12 or even higher. Monitor the camera output to see how it responds to the input. HTH |
