Absolutely beautiful. I assume that it has an alloy exterior and not plastic? Also on the AV processor photo it says HD to SD conversion. I am confused I thought it would not do SD output.

If I'm not mistaken, it will do SD output via HD-SDI.

Edit: I should've said "SDI" because the port is switchable between standards.

There's also a standard def A/V output jack. It's a 10-pin connector supporting S-video output as well.

I've been wondering...If you select DV as the DR60 drive format, it will record DV *EVEN* when you're actually recording HDV to tape.***

Now - with the DR60 apparently compatible with the EX1's i.LINK (at 25Mbps CBR) - would it also write DV, thus providing the downconvertion some people are missing so much on the new machine?

***Disclaimer: I've never actually tried this; it's what I hear/read somewhere about the DR60 uses with the V1.
