XDCAM EX & Redrock M2

Hey Gang,

Just wondering if any of you new XDCAM EX owners have tested this rig out with an M2 35mm cinema adapter?

Would love to see some footage! What I really want to see is a comparison of the footage coming off the card vs. the 4:2:2 footage out of the HDMI.

If nobody has done this yet, I will be performing these very tests when I get my hands on the camera in the next couple of weeks. I'm just already anxious to see the results!!

Thanks a million!

It will be interesting, especially since the EX1 may help make up for the couple stops you will loose with the M2 (compared to 1/3" cams). Also, the extra rez will help too.

I'd love to see some examples using 1080 24P 35mb, even if its only 5-10 seconds.

I have no way to host the files, but if someone wants to host, then I will post whatever you guys want.

Richard -

we're happy to host them. Also we have a chance to use the camera with the M2, though it was a prerelease so it wasn't quite working right.

Please keep in touch on your tests, and let's compare notes on the setup.

Timothy - not yet. The preview model we were working with had some issues with the macro mode so we weren't able to zoom in far enough. From what we did see through the viewfinder it looked absolutely fantastic.

Sony has already committed to give us a camera for some follow-on tests. They were pretty pumped.

Also our microFF works great with it and our D microLensGear. Very nice rings on the camera's lens

Sweet. Well I can't wait to see what you guys produce. I'm waiting on the camera to arrive, and as soon as it does... boy oh boy!

I'm stoked.
