simple questions re: EX-1 display

Can you switch between two different zebra levels like you can on the Panasonics.?That's a great feature.

Also will the viewfinder read out footage markings like they do on a Panasonic?

Steven Thomas November 27th, 2007 03:41 PM

It appears two have two Zebra choices.
Zebra 1: Adjustable anywhere between 50% to 107%
Zebra 2: Over 100%

Page 104 of the manual shows the LCD display parameters.
I has a listing for DOF indicator (ft or meters)
Histogram
Focal length
And of course, a lot of other parameters.

Also not just zebra 1 or 2 but zebra 1 and 2 so you can set one to say 70 and the other to 100 and have them displaying at the same time. Zebra one is spaced farther apart and slanting left to right. Zebra 2 is closer packed lines slanting right to left. Very cool.

Sorry, that's what I meant, but didn't make it as clear.

Wow, pretty impressive - I have been complaining about Sony features for a long time.

Can you choose whether its 2 zebra's or one and can you change it easily or turn the zebras on and off without climbing into menus?

really a histogram?? where is that? - super'd over the image? can you also turn that on & off easily?

Old JVC KY2000's used to have a line that represented the top of a histogram super'd over the image. that was great.

Steven, Did you mean DOF readout or just footage readout?

Can you download that manual.

Frankly I'm kind of PO'd at how much I like the sound of this camera so far because I don't want to buy a new one and dump my HVX, but i am considering. need to hear more and see more though.

Leonard,

The manual has the answers to your own questions.

Here is the link via a thread on page 2

Vaughan, it was written in the manual DOF.

Thanks I downloaded the manual and it was very instructive.
