Component out tests?

Has anybody taken the bars sent out of the component and checked them on a Waveform and vectorscope?

I remember seeing a post a while back that someone thought the signal looked a bit hot. I was wondering if it was adding setup for example when it shouldn't. I haven't checked on a calibrated monitor yet but to my I thought it looked a bit hot too. I'm also seeing a bit more noise then I expected on some video. Again it may be that I just haven't calibrated my monitors but I'd love to see if someone can check on scopes.

Craig...

My EX1 is "in the mail". I'll run it thru a WFM when it arrives and post the results if no one else has done it next week.

Great point Craig I also feel it is a little hot. What gear is needed to perform the test?

Anything you can capture component with - Blackmagic Intensity Pro, Aja Kona or Xena cards, etc etc. Capture the bars into the computer, open it up in a project file, and compare it to bars recorded and imported via firewire and bars from your NLE.

Thanks Carl I do have a BMIP card but have not used it yet due to the S&S cards. I will give this a try next week if I get some free time.
