Melting River (first footage)

http://www.metacafe.com/watch/107846..._enter_spring/

My first first first work with it. The day after I opened the box :)
Shot for about an hour (including driving to the river) Pulled the video and edited for about 30min... and then... for the first time ever compressed HD... yeah that was an experience :) took probably an hour to get one i was happy with.

2.58 stars :( maybe its too long (90seconds)

Congrats on the new camera. Was the white balance correct? It looks a little blue (cold) to me, but then I don't have a clue what colour the Missouri should be :)

You might want to try vimeo.com to host your vids, they don't have those annoying ads and you can upload 720p HD footage.

regards

paul.

Thanks Paul :)

No the white balance was not set... I was going to but honestly... liked the blue overcast, it fit for what i was going to do with it IMO. So I left it. And for just playing around, it wasn't critical.

I will check out that site! thanks for the rec.

Nick,

Thanks for posting the clip. Footage looked good. The blueness is typically early morning light on ice and water. I see that all the time with pany DVC30. Nick, did you have any chance to record faster moving water at 35mbs and if so how did it hold up? Any artifacts of breaking of the codec. I would also suggest checking out vimeo. I think once you try it you will be really impressed.

Thanks,

I guess I did have the chance to do so. But honestly, like I said, it was literally the first time I took it out :)

Didnt fully know how to do that at the time. I have learned a lot in a couple days :)
