Sharpening/Detail

For those who have detail set to "off" in Picture Profiles, are you finding the need for sharpening in post? If so, what USM protocol is working for you?

Yes, I always shoot with detail off.

I always shoot with Detail=OFF, too
Detail=on adds artificial oversharpening to the raw video which leads to more artifacts in the resulting mpeg2 stream because it is more difficult to encode.

Better add a sharpening filter in post to the clean image (with detail=off) if you need it - it looks better.

I was hoping we might share some Succesful USM settings for this camera, as it seems that many of us are shooting with detail off. It looks to me like we can mimic the sharpening level of Sony's detail on (all others at 0) with USM set to .180/.003/0 but without haloing.

Also, the counterintuitive .049/.5/0 works great for polishing (not sharpening) and an easy non destructive contrast boost.

I would be stoked to hear what is working for you.
