AZ Renaissance EX1 1080 24P clip

I'd like to thank Maxim from Aerialsfilm for hosting this clip.

A quick sample of the Arizona Renaissance festival.
This came from a longer clip, including belly dancers :)
I'll try to get a downrezzed file up.

If you do not have VideoLan, get it now!
It's free media player and it blows away everything else.
It works great with m2t files.

Just crapped myself - damn the images that camera puts out are stunning!!!

Steven - I am aware of your trials and tribulations with the EX1, so I got to ask... are you a happy owner or would you have rather have waited?

Lonnie

or is it for every 1 beautiful shot you post here - 3 others are still in your NLE marred by vignette, soft focus, and a faulty ND?

Steven Thomas March 12th, 2008 09:02 AM

Lonnie,
I have no issues with back focus, ND or not.

My replacement camera has a bit of vignetting in the top corners, but it can hardly be seen under regular use.

The image quality from the EX1 is amazing.

The sample I provided, I used the Sony Vegas "Studio RGB to computer RGB".
It should look OK for computer video RGB 0-255.

It may appear to dark, if viewing it with your video calibrated for 16-235.

I usually do not change it to RGB 0-255, but I did this time.

For those who'd rather not download the large file, here's a framegrab.

Steven, Thanks for posting the footage.... I was in Tucson last week and
had dinner with my son and his wife this past Thursday and they both were
talking about the festival and how they liked it... Looked very interesting....

Its interesting how the festivals draw out the locals and how personal they get... The festivals here in Dallas are much different than the festivals in
Houston... now I get to see a small bit of Arizona festival and even as short as the footage was, I wish I had been there to record it... maybe next year...

Thanks again, the footage looks great.......

Now, if I could only get to record some of the Indian festivals in Arizona.. :-)

Steven Thomas March 23rd, 2008 06:55 PM

Thanks Ray.

For giggles, I plan on uploading a streaming verison about eight minutes long.

Yes, the festival is a lot of fun. You're right, it sure pulls some interesting people.

Hay Steve, any chance u could share you camera color set up, it look like you have a very good skin tone there,

rob.

Steven Thomas October 14th, 2008 08:21 PM

Robert, to tell you the truth, it's been a long time. I'm not sure what the heck I was using. I can tell you I used Magic Bullet in post.

I can't remember the exacts settings for MB, but I can tell you they were not stock.
I might load a stock MB settiing, but I always change it. The defaults are way over the top.
