How much for that whole package , roughly? I sent cavasion an email for a price list and am still waiting. I'm thinking of getting the whole setup like the picture I attached.

The pistol grips take your hands away from the lens controls. For some people that may be a major issue, particularly on run and gun shoots.

I don't use the cavision pistolgrips. My handgrips are the stock grip on the right side and a screw on grip for the left side that allows me to reach the buttons and focus control on the left side.

The package is available from B&H. Just do a search at the B&H site for cavision.

the only problem with it is the shoulder support is very hard. create your own padding for it otherwise it hurts after a while! I had one for my z1 some time ago

Looking at the picture initially that's what I thought too. Making the home made shoulder pad should'nt be too hard.

1/4 inch neoprene and contact cement...or double sided tape.

I just got this link from a buddy of mine and this shoulder mount rig looks pretty darn good at a good price. Anybody have experience with Varizoom products?

Also, have a look at the PAG Orbitor. I have used it for quite long sessions of between 2-3 hours duration and have found it to be quite comfortable.. It gives me near tripod stability.

Yep. This is exactly what I use, and it distributes weight so well it still felt pretty good after 6 hours of running up and down football fields. Also held pretty steady in some big winds.

Highly recommended.

Bill - Do you by chance use the Cavision mattebox / shoulder pad with a wide angle adapter? I'm wondering if it will fit over the Century Optics zoom-thrugh version at all, and if so, without vignetting. I'd like a matte box that fits the camera clean, and with a wide and/or telephoto adapter.

Also, will you give a bit more description to the left hand grip you mentioned above? I don't want to use pistol grips either.

Thanks,
Zac

I think the Redrock microshoulder mount may be a nice choice.
