Slow startup to shoot?
A local EX1 owner reported that the cam does not start recording without a delay.. is it true? sometimes when I startup my FX1 it takes a couple of sec if it has been inactive for a while.. but in bet short stops, the cam starts almost instantaneously. Thinking of using the EX for weddings but I have heard a lot of negative comments on this. Could u guys give yr inputs? Thks!

The camera takes time (several seconds) to power up. But once it's powered on it starts and stops recording instantly.
There is no "sleep" mode, so the camera will always just start recording instantly unless you turn it off. When you change batteries you need to power off/on the camera. I always just leave the camera on all day. The battery lasts 4 hours and two batteries seem to be enough to keep it going continuously (if you can plug in your charger). There are reasons why it's not the best camera for weddings - I point to the two main flaws of the camera - the "rolling shutter" and the handholding ergonomics - search for those on the forum. Hope this is helpful. |
