Adjusting the lcd

I'm still experimenting with the EX-1 in terms of picture profiles and other internal settings. Trial and error seems to be the best way to really learn how to effectively use this camera. Most of the footage seems to look better on the EX-1s lcd then it does when viewed on an lcd (believe it or not). I have a pretty good calibrated lcd tv. However, I've been noticing that the image on the EX-1s lcd is always darker then the image on the lcd TV. I haven't adjusted the EX-1s lcd as of yet which brings me to the reason for this post. Any suggestions on the best adjustments for the lcd? What have you found that works for you? When shooting with the EX-1 I use zebras but once I have a properly set viewfinder and/or lcd I typically don't need to use them.

Thanks

I would say it's almost impossible to calibrate the LCD properly. It may look right under say, typical indoor conditions, but as soon as you go outside into daylight you'll have to ramp the brightness up again.

I think he best you can do is switch on the colour bars - route them to your properly adjusted monitor and then adjust the camera LCD till it looks as close as possible to your monitor.

Ian,

Thanks for the reply. I agree it's not really possible to calibrate the lcd correctly. I think I'll hook it up to another monitor and see if I can make any meaningful adjustments.
