EX3 viewfinder on EX1

Since the LCD is the same is there a way to add the EX3 viewfinder to the EX1?

Looks like the cover over the back of the EX3 is different but it can't hurt to ask.

just that on one of the sites regularly visited by many on this forum! It's not that difficult to make such a viewfinder.

The later thread was http://www.dvinfo.net/conf/showthread.php?t=121849.

That refers to a previous thread, but you might have to search.

EDIT: the first thread was http://www.dvinfo.net/conf/showthrea...=121059&page=4, which wandered remarkably from the thread topic.

EX1 Hood Magnifier

This is a very basic mod that I knocked up. Plastic Art board box to fit, about 2.5" deep, Velcro straps Hoodman style. I purchased a model makers magnifier head band AU$20 with flip down lens that allows both eyes viewing. The head band has a shade as well, good for out side locations.

EX1 Hood Magnifier

Hello Serena & Paul. The most important ingredient is the Personal Magnifier. Serena the item is from Dick Smith Electrical, item name: Personal Magnifier. Probably Tandy etc in USA same or similar. I will mail a jpg to Paul as I'm not sure how to manage this direct to the forum. Serena, my approach would be to mod out your concept two eye port shade to accept a sliding fit rectangle section box made from corrugated plastic art board, it's easy material to work with (Best glue is Sellys Liquid Nails). In this tube I would relocate the two Dick Smith lens panels at one end. The tube would be about 3" long. The front lens would be perhaps 3 to 4" from the monitor face for sharp focus. the reason for the sliding fit is to allow a fine focus tune for every user. So 2 times magnification for $25 !!! but not $3,000.

Serena, if you were to able to develop the idea to a finished item, I would be happy to pay out cash for a sample.

Best Regards,

Ron.
