Problem with FCP 6.0.3 to 6.0.4

Anyone see this problem? I archived a video project in FCP 6.0.3 and then opened it in 6.0.4 and all the sound on the clips in the timeline starts for a half second then repeats. The video continues out of sync. Then that half second is cut off the end of the audio clip. All clips were in XDCAM 1280x720 30p.

Not sure what you mean by archiving?

I am using FCP 6.0.4 and Leo 10.5.4 on a MacPro 2008 3.2Octo, 16GB with EX1 24p clips imported with FCP 6.0.3. No problems so far.

Archiving

Thanks for response. My process in "archiving" was to use media manager to build the entire project to a folder on a 2003 G5 with FCP 604, then I transferred this folder to a new Mac Pro with FCP 604. It was also a change from Tiger to Leopard OS.

Chip, I went through a similar process in February 08, moving from my G5 Quad with Leopard to the MacPro also with Leopard. At that time FCP 6.0.2 but with no EX1 clips. All of my projects moved over smoothly and all it asked for was permission to update the timelines for the new platform. Said Yes and it all turned out ok.

I'm thinking that Sony's XDCAM Transfer utility may be at the root of your problems. The latest version 2.7.0 only work with FCP 6.0.3 and higher. It's possible Sony made changes that end up working different on a PPC platform vs. the Intel platform. If this is the case, I can only suggest to reimport your clips with XDCAM Transfer 2.7.0. That is assuming you have backups of your EX1 BPAV folders containing the clips your working with. Cheers :-)
