Ex3 Demo Unit @ Tape Works Texas
 

Got a chance to play around with the Ex3 at Tape works there demo unit arrived today.

How was it... worth the extra $$$

While this one has been discussed, I'll just add a personal note of why I spent the extra $2K for the EX-3

1) Interchangeable lenses. I may not be as personally concerned over lenses but, as with my HVX, I will be renting the camera when I'm not using it. I think the interchangeable lenses will make it far more attractive as a rental.

2) Ergonomics-- I prefer the ergonomics of the EX-3 having shot with an EX1 for the past several months. This include:
A) Position of Controls (this is a real big one for me)
B) Shoulder rest
C) Better feel of balance (at least for me)

So, to me it is worth the $2K. Your mileage may vary.

My only concern is the memory card door not as soild as the design on the EX1

I'm with ya Brian, that was one of the first things I noticed/thought when I was playing with one at NAB. Not a deal breaker for me but definitely a negative. That said, I didn't think it was worth the 13k they originally announced at but at 9k I it's worth the extra.
