EX3 Lens Testing

While I've been following similar threads on the XDCAM HD forum as well as some isolated discussion here, I would be interested in starting a thread discussing results and impressions that users have experienced with various lens options on your EX3's.

Just for purposes of that clip on Vimeo, I had demonstrated docking Fujinon 18x lens on mine.

Has anyone attempted to use any of the Canon or Fujinon SD lenses and what is your impression of how much softness, CA or other issues introduced by using inferior glass?

How have the HD 1/2" optics been performing for those of you who have been using them?

I have the Fujinon XS17x5.5BRM lens on my EX3. Wonderful! Super easy to use.
Sure it is a little front heavy but with the DVRigPro HD unit I will be buying, I understand that the sore arm phenomenon will be history.

Anyway, focus is super easy. I have confidence in being assured that my back focus will stay put as it is fully manual. Zooming in and out on tripod is a dream with left hand while right hand tilts and pans. I can adjust the zoom speed with the 7 position knob - a super important function for me. I am used to the big real broadcast lens for many years so it was a no brainer for me to buy it. Looks good as well.

So there are additional benefits to using the lens with the EX3 other than picture quality, which, is superb.

I am very excited about my new camcorder. After waiting so many months for it, it was worth it. Now I'm off to work with it.

I did some testing with a Canon KH20 HD lens and a SD lens:
