When I but Ex1/3 I will have to change my light system to lighter more advanced system.
Currently I have this light
Bescor | MPL-635 12v DC Light with Barndoors | MPL635 | B&H
it is strong 50W light but requires a lot of power (heavy battery);
do you have any recommendations for LED light which would be powerful but use small battery? (Sony "L" or similar would be just perfect)???

I have found out that halogen based lights are in general better than LED ones - the light throw is better and they are natively 3200K (the commoner type of light found in most interiors). It's true that you can colour gel, but this always results in a drop of light intensity - which you cannot afford in a 20 watt lamp.

With the EX1/3 a 20 watt on board light is more than enough to act as a fill-in. This is low enough to power it from the same battery that will power the camera. I'm referring here to AB or V-lock batteries that can be attached via third party accessories (such as Protech, Bebob, Anton Bauer) to one or both cameras. You may also check the Swit battery. In this way you can be free from any more weight or dangling wires - ideal for ENG work.

For very good halogen lights see the Pag or Anton Bauer. The Pag one has the most accessories and it is a workhorse! I've had one for 10 years and I haven't yet changed the 20 watt lamp!!!! (...and I do use it a lot...)

I would keep that light. If you have a light that is too weak, the group shots will not be well illuminated and the skintones will be off or at least some people will be orange and others fleshtone.

how does that "famous" Zylight compares - would it be like at least 20W of regular "old fashion" light???

Pretty exciting what Zylight does actually. Check the wireless sync mode, as well as the instant hue change!
