status of hoodman "viewfinder"
A while back I remember hearing that hoodman was due to release a product that would fit onto the EX1's flip out viewfinder and provide an EX3 like experience. Has anyone heard anymore news about it and or have you tried it?
Thanks, Craig |
That's Hoodman H-400.
I just received it, and it works really great on my EX1! (Tip: since it does not come with the option of magnifying glass like smaller Hoodmans, I just bought a $4 plastic magnifier, and cut it to size so it now fits inside Hoodman H-400.) |
The H-400 has been out for a long time and I have it, it works great. However Craig is talking about a product which hoodman was suppose to be working on that is very simialr to the EVF attachment on the EX3 but for the EX1. I too am curious on the status of this product.

Oh, sorry - I seem to have misread the question.
You mean like this? http://www.sony.co.uk/res/images/ima...7064689907.gif Why is it better than just using a stock viewfinder on EX1? |
Thanks Alex for the reply
Yes Alex, I believe that it was supposed to function like the EX3. They claimed that it would have been out in September. I will call them today and report back in with the findings.

Although not a magnifier, this works with the EX1...
Century Precision Optics | VS-LCDH-DVX is an LCD | 0VS-LCDH-DVX Designed for the Panasonics, it does slip onto the EX1 LCD, although not perfectly. With a little work the fit could be considerably improved. |
A hood without a 7 to 8 dioptre eyepiece isn't a great deal of benefit. The only one I know of is here: Hood-Pro LCD Hoods for Camcorders

due to ship 10/31
I am told by hoodman that the product is due to ship 10/31.
Best, Craig |
About 2 years ago , there was a thread about building one of these for the lcd on the z1 . I wrote hoodman an email suggesting they look into a viewfinder attachment for the fx1 and the z1 . Looks like they might have read my email .
