Guitar builder - detail off

Hi! Here is a piece I did early this year. It is going to be broadcast on Swedish national television this fall. It's about an interesting guy who builds guitar necks with perfect pitch. The frets are all crooked. He calls it True Temperament.
What might be interesting from a technical standpoint is that it is filmed with detail off. Unfortunately the interview is in Swedish but he plays some music that I think you might enjoy.

Excellent! I couldn't understand what he was saying but music is an international language so I got the gist of it. The video and audio is fantastic!

As a guitar player myself, wish I understood what the heck he was saying.

BTW, it looks and sounds great.

Såå bra!

Så jäkla bra Ola!
I saw this guy and his invention at the Goteborg guitar show earlier this year, very interesting!
A really well made story Ola, bravo!

Thanks for your kind words! I wish I had the time to subtitle it in english for all you non scandinavians. By the way - I just learned today that it will be aired on SVT "Sverige" on the 2 of November.

Well shot! Got enough to understand what he was trying to do.

As a guitar builder/repair guy it never ceases to amaze me how many strange things are tried to get "perfect pitch" out of an instrument that inherently doesn't suit itself to the concept... but that's a whole other topic.

very clear.. no harshness to the outlines.. nice!

Ola. I love this piece - and I have no idea what he's saying! I especially like the lighting. May I ask what you used? It looks so simple.

His workshop was really small so I had to keep the lighting simple to be able to move around without getting lamps in the image. I actually used only one lamp - a Lowel Rifa 44 - small soft light. After filming this piece I got an egg crate for it. I think the light in the interview was spreading a little to much onto the background.
