Interesting phenomena

So I was out shooting last week, and this odd shape showed up in one clip I recorded. Didn't even notice till I got home and started editing. It was only in this one clip, and completely disappeared and hasn't reappeared since. All I can figure is it was a stuck aperture blade, and after we kept walking/changing aperture it jiggled back where it should be? I don't know. perhaps COSMIC RAYSSSS

ND filter not fully in place.

You sure? I can't seem to reproduce it.

at first look, it does look like the wheel isnt fully in place, but that weird bright triangle shape makes me think something else is up. that, and to the right of the black line, if it was the ND wheel, wouldnt it be darker/lighter on that portion of the screen??

edit:

something else that is strange is that at :20 in, when you iris up, it goes away for a fraction of a second.

Alister is correct I have had it happen a few times with my ND from ND2 to ND1.

Steven Thomas November 15th, 2008 03:08 PM

This is correct.

This is a known "occasional" issue with some EX1 cameras.
I've heard of several who have seen this "in between" ND setting. I have never had this happen on my EX1.

Paul Cronin November 15th, 2008 03:10 PM

I should be clear it happens on my EX1. When I wear gloves and loose the fine touch that the ND switch needs.
