PC won't recognize SxS, Mac does

We have run into a weird problem.
Our 2 8GB SxS cards appear on my MacBook Pro when inserted into the xpress card slot.
When we try to off load the cameras in a PC, also using the xpress card slot, the cards are not read by the PC.
Our 16 GB card appear on both the Mac and PC.

We have formatted the cards in-camera.

Any ideas?

PS We can off load the cards if we connect the EX-1 with a USB cable

Not enough information! The PC is running what? XP or Vista? Have you downloaded and installed the Sony Clipbrowser software for the PC and what NLE are you intending to use on the PC?

Xp i think. It has just recently started. We used to be able to read them on the same laptop.
The Sony software is installed

I guess you installed the SxS drivers?

Joachim Hoge November 27th, 2008 03:14 PM

Yes.
And the Acer has no problem with the 16GB card, just the 8GB cards.
Itīs mystery

I have the same problem, I have to use the SxS reader for my 8's (which both have bad areas on them-media error) But the 16's work fine. What I have heard, is that, it's a Vista problem, and there really is no cure. Somehow Vista stops seeing it.

Replace it

Joachim,
sell those 8GBs to someone who works with a Mac and buy several DxS/KxS combos for the money you get. With the new Delkin solution this has turned into a valid asset: Contrary to my prior judgement, with the NEW Delkin card adapter plus matching Sandisk Ultra II card(s), this has turned into a no-more-tinkering-work tool.

Thanks for the info, but I'm the one running a mac. Can you over crank with this combo?
We often shoot 60 frames as the cameras are used for action sports

I'm sorry, no :-(
