Why is Zoom-Shot-Transition so bad ?

That's nothing new, but something I had to see again the last days.

When using the automatic shot transition for a zoom, with soft start and/or stop there is always a sudden speed change that makes it NOT really soft :)

It is however perfectly possible to do a soft speed-ramp with the Zoom controller, which also drives the same gearwheel for the zoom.
So it's definitely not a mechanical problem. Must be in the software.
I hoped, that would also be fixed with the firmware update. But it isn't.

Has anyone ideas to make that work ? I used the feature all the time on my Z1, where it alway worked smooth. Would be great on EX1, too..

Thanks!

Peter

Yep, not optimally implemented. Register your complaint and home Sony will fix it in new firmware.
