no xdcam ex-options in fcp 6.05

i have no xdcam ex-options in fcp 6.05. i have installed the latest clip browser plus the 2.8.0 transfer software - but no ex-options appear in the easy setup-menu.
on the fcp6.02 update info apple says you need an extra sony plug-in to activate the ex-options. but i cannot find this plug-in. what can i do?

I'd say that initial installation of FCP Studio 2.0 was incomplete. All the options (Easy Set-Up, Import & Export) have been present on my system since day one and they are updated accordingly to 6.0.5.

Have you tried dragging a clip down to a timeline to see if FC asks if youwant to change the sequence setting to match the clip?
Also ,you have to use log and transfer, not import to get the EX files into FC now.
Not sure if this helps , good luck

Joachim, you are partially correct. In FCP 6.0.5, the import XDCAM actually opens the XDCAM Transfer (2.8.0) application, then you proceed accordingly to import clips directly in the FCP Browser window.

OK forehead dented from pounding against desk top...

I can see the EX3 in this mac's finder window.
FCP is version 6.0.5
I've got XDCAM EX 1080i50 VBR through XDCAM HD422 720p60 CBR sequence presets
I installed XDCAM EX clip browser (functions fine on it's own)
I ran an easy setup for the Sony XDCAM HD

I go to File/import/ - I see only the attached image. No EX3 footage. What am I missing? besides a screw..

Never mind, I figured it out. Old version of transfer program. Downloaded the new version and we're in business. Of course now I can see that the footage is overexposed, so we're out of business again, but at least now I can see the files..

I have the same issue with FCP. Where did you find the latest ver of XDCam transfer? I have looked and have had no luck in finding it. Sony does a terrible job of making their sw easy to find.

You don't need to use the XDCAM Transfer app at all, I just choose Log & Transfer from from the file menu and use the inbuilt utility to import the footage.

EX support for FCP6

Support for XD Cam EX came with the FCP 6.0.2 update adding the codec and now there is Log and Transfer support with this download.
Sony : XDCAM EX Log and Transfer Utility Mac OS : United Kingdom
