Audio Question on the EX3

Can some one tell me about how to get good audio, i have my audio on -47db and i use 2 sony radio microphones, i have to set the a -3db or -0db and the manual levels on the camera set to 8 or 9 so i can hear the people speaking, it meter on the camera is peaking at -20db. But when i listen to it in post i have a hiss noise (like to volume is turned up to much) some times i have to gain it up in post as well. so i have the radio mics up all the way what should the camera be set to ?? Rob,
You should check the mics independently of the camera to make sure the hiss is not in the radio mic system. Once you are satisfied you have good sound out of the mics you should play with the trim menu for the camera to see if you can get good levels with the mics running the input pots somewhere near the middle. -47db is a low setting for a radio mic receiver and -20 on peaks is also low for actual recording so you probably have some room to bring up the trims and the recording level. Average recording levels should be around -20 but peaks can go up to around -12 or even higher. Monitor the camera output to see how it responds to the input. HTH
