Importing Clips With Audio (AfterEffects)?

Anyone have this problem with their XDCAM EX footage?

When I import the clips into AfterEffects CS3, there is no audio. When do a "Get Info" in QuickTime it says that the audio format is "Big Endian", not Little Endian like I'm used to with DV footage. Anyone know how to solve this problem?

I'm shooting 1080 30P imported using XDCAM Transfer. Anyone else have this problem? Could it be my camera settings? Could it be a glitch with Adobe AfterEffects CS3?

Thanks in advance. :)

No one is having problems importing clips with audio into various software applications?

What is the container you converted to? mov? AE CS3 cant do mxf for me. I'm not sure mov could work.

QuickTime MOV. That should work, shouldn't it? There are no audio format settings on the camera.....right? With our old DV camera we needed to remember to set the audio to 48kHz or it wouldn't work right.

CS3 as a default doesn't support MP4. This was noticable when importing to premiere where clips played but audio track was muted. So you might want to check if you have latest version and also if CS3 in generally will support EX1 even if updated. The fact that your using XDCAM transfer is indicating that your working in OSX which I don't even have enough knowledge.. but since you probably are using FCP you could just try exporting it to some other format (the MOV is just file extension type... the video and audio within MOV can be encoded in so many different ways) and see if audio works then.

CS3 AE and XDCAM

I always import XDCAM mpeg4 files directly into CS3 AE. Gives best quality, no conversion. I can see that audio is left behind, but I always prepare the audio in Premiere not in AE.

My work flow is different Arild. Need the audio to come in with the video. I wonder if this is "fixed" with CS4? (I'm still using CS3) Anyone tried this with CS4?
