EX1 Wireless controls + wireless video

I'd like to be able to wirelessly control the EX1. What can be controlled wirelessly (stop/start, focus?, zoom, Iris?) and what about wireless transmission of video? Any products to look out for?

thanks,

jim

Try the camera remote control.
Unfortunately you have to set it up every time you turn on the camera.

I need to be a few hundred feet away.

There are solutions but they are expensive. Used often in conjunction with Steadicam operation. You might want to try doing a search on the Steadicam forum. It's a great resource and you will find links and comments on video transmitter/receivers, remote focus control and the like...

Do a Google search for Home Theatre IR transmitters. You can use them to transmit ir remote signals (like the one that came with your camera) long distances. They use repeaters, etc.. to make this happen. I don't think they are very expensive.

For wireless transmission of video, there's a lot available from the radio-controlled world:

Combo Sets : RangeVideo!, Wireless video solutions.
Range video has had several complaints of slow service. But their prices are very low. I have one of their 900 Mhz setups and it works well enough.

Do a google search of "FPV" and "RC" and you'll get a lot of URLs.
