EX-1 Card Question

We have purchased MxR Expresscard/34 Readers and are happy using them in our Sony EX1 cameras. We have been using the Panasonic 16GB SDHC card, but we would like more record time.

We acquired a SanDisk Ultra II 32GB SDHC card, but it is not playing nice. We get an error that requests us to format the card. When we do this, we get a failure-card no good error. We take the card to a computer, test it out, and it works fine. Do you have any thoughts about what may be happening? Do you have any suggestions for a suitable 32GB SDHC card?

Secondly, we also recently acquired a Sony EX30 “deck”. It does not like any SDHC adapted product what-so-ever. We sent the deck to Sony and got the firmware upgraded, but it still won’t recognize any SDHC cards. What has been your experience with this deck?

Thanks!

Mike

Regarding the 32GB SanDisk problem this thread may help:

If you have Sandisk Ultra2 32GB CLASS 2
format (it'll fail)
pull MxR out
put MxR in
format (it'll complete)

If you have Sandisk Ultra2 32GB CLASS 4
That doesn't seem to work but ONE person who bought their cards from Adorama in NYC says their's format on the first try.

You say Panasonic SDHC 16GB work??!!
Please point to specific model and how you tested.

I hear that Transcend 32GB Class 6 work (Paul mentions 16GB).

32GB Cards seem to be a slightly different beast than 16GB of any ilk.

I've seen no one reporting issues with 16GB cards from either Sandisk or Transcend.
Note that the OP was asking about 32GB cards.
