Anyone having problems with Sony Rebate? at DVinfo.net

As some of you may know, Sony was doing a $500 rebate on the 32gb SxS if you purchase by the end of March. I had no intention on getting the card as I thought it was extremly over priced at $1,400. When I saw the $500 rebate, I thought that would be reasonable even though I had a feeling that the prices would drop anyways after the deadline. I just did not want to take a chance.

Anyways, long story short, It's been over 6 weeks that I sent in my rebate paperwork and Sony is refusing to send me the money because they claim that I have not sent in the sufficient bar code/upc code that is on the box. I have cut out every and any piece on the box that resembles a bar code and they still won't accept it.

Their customer service has been ridiculous and what they are asking for does not seem to exist on the box.

Has anyone had the same situation with Sony so far when it comes to rebates? If so, what was the solution?

Problem with rebate? Yep. It's not available in Hawaii.

Sometimes living in the 50th State is like living in a foreign country. Then again, we're the most geographically isolated place on Earth.

If it were me I would phone up the store you bought it from ask advice. I would also phone up the Sony office closest to you that does repairs on pro Sony video gear and explain the situation and ask for the name and contact information for a regional manager at Sony and plead your case.
