A favor to ask...
 

Thanks to those who have been giving input on my wish list a couple of threads down.

I have a favor to ask though...I need to see if my current teleprompter will fit the EX3. If not...That will have some impact on the extra gear I get when I shell out for the EX3.

I wonder if I could ask a favor or anybody who has nothing better to do...could somebody measure the the EX3 as follows:

1. from the tripod screw hole to the front of the lens and...
2. (with the camera on a flat surface) from the base up to lens center.

Doesn't have to be millimeter precise...just trying to see if it will fit the prompter mount and not hit the mirror.

Tripod screw to front of lens... 8 3/4"

Base of camera to lens center (vertical from bottom)... 3"

Base of lens to center of lens... about 2"

Your mileage may vary.

Which Prompter are you using?

I use the one from Prompter People and have no problems, although I have to take the lens hood off.

I am using the Prompter People model DV9. It works great but apparently this model has been retired.

This is the same model that I have. It works just fine, you must zoom in slightly to avoid corner clipping if your using the stock lens at the wide setting.
