What Motion settings to use for 1080i50 material when FCP field set to none?

Hi guys,

I've been having a lot of trouble with getting good quality with my Motion file in a 25fps progressive timeline.

My footage is XDCAM EX 1080i50. sequence settings are the standard: 1920 x 1080, square, 25 frames, except i change the compressor to prores 422 and my field dominance to none as i'm editing for the web only.

now when i make a motion file with the preset of xdcam hd 1080p25 it looks perfect in motion, but in my sequence it looks jagged. however when i change my sequence settings to upper field dominance the quality returns.

however doing a bit of experimenting, i have found that using a 1080p24 motion file looks great in my sequence when it is set to field none which is what i actually want my timeline to be. this means, right next to each other in a 25fps timeline i have a 1080p25 motion file which looks jagged, and a 1080p24 motion file which looks great?

what am i doing wrong? how do you guys make your titles? i've found this to be the same issue with after effects whereby if i make a composition for 25 frames it looks jagged in my fcp sequence, but if i make it for 24 then it also looks good?
