Writing Back to the Cards

Hey all,

Once I have finished an edit, is there any way to dump the completed master back on to the cards?

I want to do a screening on my HDTV, and I can drive it with the camera, but I have no other way to get a 1080p signal to it - so I'd love to just put the edit on to the card and play it directly from the camera into the set.

Possible? if so how?

Thanks in advance.

What edit platform do you use? On a mac with FCP you can export .MP4's by using the "Export", "Sony XDCAM" option. I believe Premiere CS4 can also export MP4's. You may need to use clip browser to "import" the MP4 to the SxS card.

search this thread,
I wrote step by step instructions for this process for FCP. There are some tricks to get this to work. I would imagine that the process is similar for a PC.

Kevin,

Thanks so much... was searching the wrong keywords... great description.

And the 4GB limit isn't a big problem, because it plays back clips seamlessly, so I can break my video into chunks that will be <4GB and write them out separately.
