1/2 frame rolling shutter fix in post ? Will it ever happen ?
Hi all :)
I've been using my EX3 to film a few nightclub events and have been experiencing the rolling shutter effect a lot. Quite horrendous :( I didn't primarily buy this camera to film in these kind of conditions however I'd love a fix in post or via firmware. Does anyone know if any such thing is going to be addressed/fixed in the future ? Chris |
Tell us the conditions, the settings, and the problems occurring before we can offer advice.

Hi David.
here is a test .FLV www.visualintent.tv/demos/test.flv www.visualintent.tv/demos/Grab315.jpg shot on 1080/ 50i shutter 1/60 I knew of this limitation before purchasing so it's no shock to me. I'm just wondering if this problem could be fixed via firmware or in post. (in the future that is) |

Panasonic ...
Panasonic has posted a firmware fix for rolling shutter that works. Hopefully, Sony will do the same!

That was some good information. Thanks : ) Just hope Sony take note. |

It surely must mean Sony will be doing the same soon. Last week i filmed an awesome crowd scene looking down from a stage. I couldn't use the footage because the 1/2 frame flicking was very extreme (white flashing lights were going crazy and my ex3 just couldn't handle it.) :( Common Sony, and while you're at it fix that skewing problem too :) |
