Mac Pro expresscard reader

Any suggestions for a quick way to get the SxS cards into a Mac Pro tower? I have the Sony reader, but the usb is slow so I'm looking for an alternative.

Not long ago I did some research into this same question and came to the conclusion that no, there aren't any better alternatives than the USB reader to get SxS files into a MacPro in one hop. There are certainly lots of choices if you can bear two or more hops, but those are worse if speed is your primary motivation.

There is a PCIe card that you can put in the MacPro which has an ExpressCard slot (facing out the back of the computer) but it has one very, very serious flaw: you must reboot your computer each time you change cards. Seriously.

Right now, my SxS card reader of choice is my MacBookPro. I offload into FW800-attached storage in the field then move that over to the edit bay where the MacPro lives. Two hops, but it works out pretty well for my workflow.

I wish Sony or someone would make a FW800 ExpressCard reader.

I had questioned this last year about the same thing.

I thought this production from New Egg was the solution, apparently not.
