Clip Browser bug?
Hey all,
Is there a known issue with Clip Browser on OS 10.5.8? Mine worked fine for the first, oh, month after installing, but starting last week it has been crashing within five seconds of launch - every single time. I tried reinstalling; no luck. It's kind of an issue because I don't want to just Finder-copy the BPAV directories onto my hard drive, and I don't have any other way of importing them. Any ideas, or am I out of luck? |
Try running it in the Guest account. If it runs fine there, but not under your login, then its prefs got mangled and you can just trash the prefs to fix it.
Thanks for the quick reply, Brooks. Unfortunately it crashed in Guest as well.

Did you recently install or update anything that you could correlate with the onset of this?
Perhaps maybe the new SxS driver? Outside of the usual troubleshooting steps (running under Guest, etc.) I don't know where else to look. |
I've been updating various software as my pathetic Internet connection will allow. I'm pretty sure one of the updates or another broke it, but I can't figure out which - especially as the clone laptop works fine and has the same updates.
Corrupt or conflicting files playing havoc I would suspect.
It's a long shot, but I have found that Clip Browser will not launch if my IPod shuffle is connected. Have you anything similar?

Nick, if I'm ever in the UK, I'll buy you a beer.
So, was that it? An iPod?
Yep - I had my Shuffle plugged in. I would never have guessed that it could be the culprit.
No worries!
