EX3 sync concern

I mentioned this in my introduction at the Neighborhood section, but this is probably the right place to ask:

I am planning to order an EX3 this Monday (which is when B&H reopens after a week-long holiday), but I have one concern/question.

The EX3 does not seem to have a true 24P format, only the 23.98P. Does that mean that if footage shot with the EX3 is put on film, which runs at 24fps, the video and the audio will get out of sync?

If you record audio in the EX3, you can conform it to 24P, and audio would conform as well.

If recorded externally you would have to conform that separately. But there are many ways of doing that as well.

Thank you, that is very good to hear (or read).

I watched Doug Jensen's 3-part video (on Vimeo) about the XDCAM EX this afternoon. He said the clock can be set to a drop frame or a non drop frame mode.

This seems to imply the possibility to shoot in the true 24P mode. If so, I will be very happy.

I did order the EX3 on Monday from B&H. I paid with a debit card which has a daily limit, and they have agreed to charge my card $1050/day until the full amount is paid, something I really appreciate. B&H really rocks!

Congrats you will love the EX3.

Just a note DF or NDF does not effect frame rate, only how the frames are numbered. And it only applies to 29.97 I believe.

Oh, OK then. Thanks. I guess once I have it in my hands, it will all become clear. :)
