DVCAM AVI format

Hello,

I plan to buy very soon a EX1r and I have some questions.

The SD recording mode :

How Final Cut Pro can manage DV wrapped in avi files ?

Thanks for you answers

Yes, no problem. It will warn you that the AVI file is not optimum for performance but it edits just fine.

Alister, which is the optimum format. I have just been producing some Quick Time clips at 1920x1080 for a film stock library. They recommend QT format, but looking at the files they look flat and lifeless, even though they look OK on the Premiere timeline. My AVI files look OK.

try adjusting the quicktime preferances for video, they always look slimey here too.
in the QuickSlime player:
Edit-Preferances-Quicktime preferances-video settings- try the Software only mode GDI.

also use your (software) Scopes, beings everyones player and codec decoder can be set different, dont trust anything on a computer :-) everything on it is adjustable.

there are other players that will play a quicktime on PC much better than quicktime itself does.

Thanks, that has given the footage a bit of a lift
