Made a Boo Boo - Smart People Please Read

Did a 2 camera shoot with my ex-1's.
Cam #1 was 1080, 24p HQ
Cam #2 was 1080, 60i SP

I need cam 2 to work in the time line w/ cam 1 (Final Cut Pro)

I'm sure I can never get cam 2 to look like cam 1, maybe if I deinterlace, but it's not that important. But can I export cam 2 footage to a different format out of the timeline to match
the frame rate, etc of cam 1? If so, do I just use the EX settings in my Quicktime drop down menu in FCP? Thank you.

See if you can get Compressor to change one to the other's format.

Maybe go from 60i to 24?

Compressor can do a batch process which will lighten your workload.

Have you TRIED dropping camera two's footage into a timeline with the same settings as camera one? Making 60i footage INTO 24P by placing it in a 24P timeline imparts at least most of the motion characteristics but the clarity is probably lost forever.

Magic Bullet Frames would likely be able to convert the 60i stuff to 24p pretty well, but I don't know if it would look exactly the same aesthetically.

I assume it's a long duration shoot?

I might try to layout one camera (maybe the 24p camera) on a proper timeline and the other camera on it's timeline and determine what you'll actually need in the edit and convert only that which is required for the program.

What is your final delivery method?

Very different recommendations depending on final format.

Like WEB Flash/QT or whatever, SD-DVD, Broadcast NTSC/PAL, hopefully not HD.

They are all possible. With AE you can do pulldown or de-interlace, very nicely.

With Vegas, you would put them both on the same timeline. If the project properties are set to match camera 1, (24p), the clips from camera 2 will be converted to 24p

Well, the biggest thing was the 24p/60i thing I guess.

I used to get great results using DVfilm's Maker app, which IIRC specifically does the 60i to 24p thing as well as being a classy deinterlacer (only deinterlacing stuff that moves) for HDV.

DVFilm - Digital to Film Transfers, Raylight Software for Desktop HD editing

Maybe worth a punt.
