Multiple Video Outputs Simultaneously

Please forgive me if this question has been answered somewhere else.
I did a search a couldn't find this issue covered.

Is it possible to have video out from both the HDMI and Component outputs of the EX1R simultaneously?
The manual seems to indicate that selecting one of them for video output will disable the other outputs.

I need to hook up 2 seperate monitors (one for focusing and one for the Director).

I don't have the camera.....yet. Asking a pre-purchase question.

Thanks in advance!

well it is easy and not very expensive to distribute either YUV or the HDMI output.

If you were going to use component, you could use monitors for loop through.
I think, Ikan monitors convert the HDMI input to the component output.

No, it don't as I tried that on a shoot I did last week...as I have the Ikan V8000 HDMI monitor...... I was hoping it would, but it seems your input has to be the same as the output.

It is as the manual says: 1 output only.
Unless someone found a way to hack the camera/firmware ;-)

Use component and try to find splitters to create 2 outputs out of 1.
Maybe that's easier with the YUV cable. You won't have sound from the camera, but you can use cheap audio-tulips-cables and adaptors. Splitters should exist. Maybe (mini)jack only, but that can be fixed with a plug.

Or maybe there is a way to transmit the signal?
In that case the number of recievers in irrelevant... (and the neighbours can watch as well if they tune in ;-) )

I don't know about EX1-R, but with the EX1 you're getting simultaneous output from both HD ports (i.e. SDI and Component - it can be down-converted to SD (crop, letterbox, or squeeze)).

Looping-through your monitor is an additional option of course.

My solution as well. I set up a low cost multcamera studio by using to the component signals to feed my confidence monitors and the HDSDI to feed the switcher.

Thanks everyone for the great info, and for the suggestions.
Much appreciated!

Ikan VX Series

The ikan VX series can take in an HD-SDI signal and output an analog component signal. The monitor converts the signal.
