ex1r/more using lcd vs. vf?

ive heard so many here raving about the ex1/r cam on it being excellant on all levels. i can agree in the time ive shot with it.
coming from a shoulder mount with a very good monochrome vf, im more used to that vs the lcd.
since alot of the users use the lcd , is it because of the vf not being that good?
its an adjustment for me especially when shooting on a tripd.

Sometimes, the use of the VF vs LCD is a generational thing....i.e. there's a belief that young shooters who grew up on their family camcorders with flip out screen, prefer the LCD while not-so-young shooters who grew up on film and shoulder mounted cameras prefer the VF. I don't know if this has been studied or is a myth.

But other times, and this may be the case with the EX1, the VF in the EX1 was not hires....therefore EX1 shooters used the LCD (even of they were the not-so-young variety). The EX1R has a hires VF so that changes things. The Westside AV site
( EX1 Small Shoulder Brace ) shows the Hoodman Loupe on the LCD which turns the LCD into a VF and with a shoulder rig, lets you use the EX1 like a semi-shoulder camera ala the EX3 or Canon's XL or JVC whatever.
