white balance button on EX-1 easy to hit accidently

Has anyone figured out a way to protect the white balance button on the EX-1 from being accidently hit while riding the exposure wheel. I find especially when handheld that my finger hits this button repeatedly. I tried covering it with a small piece of velcro but that may have made it even worse.
Anyone else having this problem. It drives me crazy. That and the misplaced "all auto button " right next to the peaking button on the side have got to be the worst designed buttons I've ever seen on a camera. The velcro keeps me off the auto button at least.

Dang. I haven't hit it until you mentioned it. I just tried it an I see what you mean. In the past with a Canon camera, I've made donuts out of mounting tape whose thickness is about right. It acted like a bumper to finger flying by. If the velcro had no hole, maybe it was pushing on the button?

If you mount a matte-box the rails will keep you away from the WB button. Thumb under the rail, finger riding the aperture ring. All this just means that you could overcome the problem by changing your hold. The rails force a change, but you can use the same hold without them. I guess you let the lens rest in your cupped left hand, whereas I habitually put a thumb under the body/rail so my fingers can play the focus/aperture tune. This keeps you away from the buttons under the lens.
