Major ex 3 colour balance issue

We have a refurbished EX3 that will intermittently display a neon green hue when attempting a white balance. We have not confirmed if this is a display issue or if the image is going to card like this.
Anyone know anything?
Thanks
Dan

Shoot some footage and see if it does effect the final image. I suspect the EX LCD screen needs calibrating or replacing.

I had a ismilar problem at one wedding this year. The camera was the EX1.
I reported it to this forum. Others have also had this problem. In my case the green was recorded to the cards. Not an LCD problem. Related to white balance error.
In my case it has not happened again.

Seen it happen once or twice. Think the camera gets confused during white balancing. Another white balance cured it.

Just happened to my EX1 this week. Definitely connected to white balance. In my case it happened when I attempted to white balance on a very bright white card. It was my mistake not realizing the ND was not in. I turned the camera on and off, even reset the "all reset" in the menu. Didn't change from electric green.

Finally, I attempted white balancing again, and it went back to normal. Scary though, especially while you're about to start interviewing someone.

I came across this problem once. The guys from BBC Country File were shooting on a location I happened to be in at the same time They were having a pretty miserable time with their EX1 displaying exactly this problem.

Their tech support didn't know what to do so I got their permission to have a play with it to see if I could sort it out. Took me several power downs, some swearing, head scratching, White balancing didn't work at first. But I went into the Paint menu and saw that the camera had set the white balance for the memory preset I was using to the absolute maximum that it possibly could, thus causing the electric green issue. I manually set it to a sensible level (5600k) and told them to leave it that way until they could get it checked out (they were only doing outdoor shooting, so 5600k would have been fine for most circumstances).

Never had the issue on the EX3 as yet.

Hi
Had this issue in the beginning with my EX 3 - sometimes I needed to white balance 2-3 times to get the right white balance. Have not seen this for a long time - maybe because of the firmware upgrade.
