Deleting Files without Harming BPAV Structure?

Is there any way to delete whole XDCAM clips from within Premiere's Media Browser (preferably) or Sony's Clip Browser? If not, what is the best way to delete clips from the BPAV folders without messing up the XML data and file structure?

Say, for example, I import all the card's clips using Media Browser and later realize that 3 of my 4 takes are junk and don't need to be:

#1. in my project or
#2. on my harddrive, wasting space?

What's the best way to trash them without trashing all your XML structure?

I've used Clip Browser to delete and move files and it doesn't seem to harm the BPAV Structure.

Just select/highlight clip in the browser and "trash" it (on Mac, anyway).

No harm to BPAV structure.

The clips are hanging from the structure; they're not supporting it.
