EX1R firmware upgrade had wrong file
 

Are you getting the "Version Upgrade No File" error message?

I was having trouble upgrading my EX1R firmware from v1.10 to 1.15 using the file from the Sony micro site. I read the instructions CAREFULLY, yet I kept getting a message that said "Version Upgrade No File". I finally gave up and called Sony Support (I hate asking for directions) and it turns out that there is an alternate firmware version that works with some cameras.

The technician sent me a link to download PMW-EX1R_1.15_1831-SxS which is about 9MB. I unzipped it, copied to the SxS card as instructed, and now it's working just fine. I would upload the file here if there were a way to do that, but it is too large for this forum.

If you are experiencing this problem, I suggest you call Sony, and they will send you the link to the firmware version.
